Located in the center of the busy area, Pangyo in Seoul, Hankook´s remarkable building stands out by its amazing design. The new Hankook headquarters reflects the intelligence in engineering. Inside the building the design has been kept simple and organic. Most shapes are rounded to highlight what Hankook manufactures – tires.
Foster + Partners designed this building to embrace several themes that are symbolic of Hankook´s desire to create a dynamic office environment that supports flexible working styles and the company´s ongoing efforts to inculcate a progressive corporate culture – since the company looks towards the future.
The ten-story building creates the framework for offices and the business center of the building, the 175-seat auditorium. One of the buildings many characteristics is the dynamic volume that generates visual connections across the different levels encouraging staff interaction and breaks down the traditional hierarchical barriers, and thereby creates a more openminded workplace.
The unique visual and dynamic identity of the new headquarter sets high standards to the acoustic absorption and fade® Acoustic Ceilings and its Korean partner PeopleKorea, were involved early in the design process.
